Well what needs to be said is that you at least really nailed down the Shipbucket style on the first try. That deserves commendation right there. The only issues are in terms of the accuracy of the drawing and that's just going to be the nature of beast when dealing with a pre-digital age vessel that's been through so many changes, even if not especially on a well-documented ship where the documentation itself might not be so well-documented...if that makes sense.

Very good looking, but what about the badge? Is it an official one? I can't find any information about it :?

Thanks to everyone for their input and materials, especially TimothyC and Canis D.

Not 100% sure about the badge but its the only one I've seen floating around on the internet. Its pretty bland.

I'll make some adjustments tonight.

Very, very good work, and taking into account the superlatives above, does it belong to the beginners drawing forum?

Thank you for liking the drawing. I posted in beginners, because this is my first real life drawing of a warship (I've drawn ferries before) but mainly because what I thought were good sources turned out to be not so when it came to precise detail. The bridge section for example, is not clear in the source I have, if it is on staunchions or is on top of another level of superstructure so things like that cause the accuracy to be compromised. This is more evident to me when I see the quality of drawings on offer in the Real Designs forum! :o This is why I posted it here and if any of the mods want to move it, great. If not, people are welcome to modify it to bring it up to SB standard.

I'm fascinated by this ship, more so since drawing her. It's amazing to see the evolution of the carrier in a period where most people didn't realise the true potential of aircraft (hindsight is great!). I think it must have been a dangerous ship to work on and respect to the people who did... especially the pilots!
