The line drawing I have for this is quite low res so the fine details get lost in all the frames and wires.

All recommendations for improvements are welcome.

What year is it depicted? This is very important for an accurate drawing.

The title will also need to change to fit the rest of the USN drawings:

This really drives home the ultimately experimental nature of this ship. Very little has been changed from its previous collier nature other than add a flight deck and some structures to house crew.

I'm not sure what date this is from as I've been working from un dated pictures, scale models and a low res line drawing.

I'll change the title format.

I believe Friedman's Carriers has the evolution of this ship fairly well documented, unfortunately I don't have it with me over my spring break otherwise I'd take a look for you.

Based on my earlier observation I'd guess very early in the vessel's career.

Yeah, I think its after the reconstruction in 1922. I imagine that a ship like this would be constantly changing due to the experimental nature of its duties. Do you know what the wooden beams on the hull are for?

The beams are probably for boat handling. There was a movie on Turner Classic a couple weeks ago, The Flying Fleet from 1929 that featured her rather prominently.
