I can only echo Hood's comments above: an excellent thread, that over time gives us a history of one of the worlds oldest navies; and the drawings are excellent :)

Thank you!

After the WW2 a couple of Bangor-class minesweepers (one British, one Canadian) were acquired by Portugal to serve as hydrographic vessels. Here's one of them: NRP Comandante Almeida Carvalho as she looked in 1950's and early 1960's during her Azores and Cape Verde missions.

The fourth yacht of the King of Portugal Carlos I was named after his wife Amelia, just like his previous three yachts. She was to serve not just as a royal yacht, but as hydrographic ship (Carlos was quite an oceanographer) and a 2nd class cruiser, hence her armament of four 47mm guns.

Excellent work, love the canopies too. Some real nice touches at the small scale.

Another Gem, I love to see what emerges here - you'll eventually cover most of the fleet :)

These five destroyers were based on the British Ambuscade. The first two ships were built in Yarrow and achieved speed of over 36 knots during test trials. The Prtuguese have built five ships at Lisbon naval shipyard, two of which were sold to Colombia.
