Very impressive. I like this design a lot. I'd be very interested in seeing a Canadianized version of this type to serve as an interim ASW escort between the Iroquois and Halifax classes. Certainly four of these could've replaced the Mackenzie-class destroyers, and also given MARCOM some serious air-defence capabilities before the Iroquois-class received the TRUMP refits in the mid-nineties.

I wonder were these designs to act as Hunter Killer groups or to work as convoy escorts. It would be interesting to see what their support vessels would have been. I'm thinking Replenishment, C3I etc

WM20 series ought to be able to illuminate for Sea Sparrow, heuhen. No need for both that and the separate illuminator (which means you can put the one you keep in a better position!).

the idea was that the Sea Sparrow used a separate system for faster response time, but i agree with you that I can use the egg for that to.
