The royal barge Vasaordern was built in 1774 for wedding of prince Karl and princess Hedvig Elisabeth Cahrlotta of Holstein Gottorp by the prince's brother king Gustav III. Designer was master shipbuilder and admiral Fredric Hendric af Chapman. The Royal barge was destroyed in a devastaing fire at naval yard in Stockholm 1923 and replica was made, exact into last detail.
The barge is used for statevisits (QE II was transferd from HMY Brittanina to the royal castle in stockholm with the barge in 1956 and the queen of Holland a year later from the cruiser De Zeven Provicien) and grand royal cermonies such as wedding. The laste occasions was the visit of emperor Aikithito of Japan and the Royal wedding in the summer of 2011.
