Im not quite sure, Ive been up close to the propellors, and from what I could tell it was not a coating on brass, but rather a silver colored metal.

Template title should say:

USA, Gato Class
USS Drum SS-228 (1945)

Also the propellers are a non-issue as they should be shaded using standard Shipbucket propeller colors.
