The IJN is grossly underrepresented on SB as of late, so I'm doing my part to remedy that. Raxar's Yugumo thread got me thinking - dangerous in itself  - and I decided to try my hand at a modification job. Since I couldn't find any line drawings of how she looked in her final days in the IJN, I simply did as best I could (had to use pics of a photo-etch kit ad for the aft AA guns).

Here are the modifications made (from bow to stern):
  • division number and name on side painted over
twin-mount 25-mm. AA guns added on bandstand forward of bridge
Type 22 radar mounted on foremast
twin-mount 25-mm. AA guns at aft funnel replaced by triple-mount 25-mm. AA guns
Type 13 radar mounted on mainmast
'X' turret removed and replaced by two triple-mount 25-mm. AA guns

Enjoy!

Looks nice, although you could have used the boat and the torpedo tubes from the IJN parts sheet. Also the portholes should be bigger.
By the way I don't see anything I should be credited for.

Nice job btw.

And black waterline. But other than that it looks good.

WhyMe: I credited you because it was your parts sheet. I used the Type 13 and 22 radars from it, in addition to the triple-mount AA guns.

Parts are not credited. That's why they're parts.

In fact I'm not sure that I would endorse even putting your name on it. Since from what I can tell you just made configuration changes, that's not a dramatic enough change to deserve crediting yourself.

The emphasis here is on drawing new ships, not necessarily on slightly modifying what we already have and slapping your name on it.

Still, I applaud your attention to detail in making these changes and I don't think it should go to waste.
