Thanks all, I will patch up the shading issue. I draw people because it connects you better with the scale of size into realization! Yes, the darker patches are apparently part of the scheme. I based the scheme off a close shot photo of Drum leaving mare island and she had them.

I actually like the people you've drawn -- and I agree that it brings the ship into perspective.

Same. People have been an occasional feature since time immemorial, after all.

Well, all my drawings have at least one human figure, and I got that custom early on from another member (Shiplover I think); and yes, it allows some perspective, but it has always been a personal preference :)

Would this be counted as a better shade job? The Gato's have a well rounded hull which produces large shadow areas.

The Label needs to be solid black, not Pixelated, best way I know how to do it, is use a Monochrome Bitmap, type out the Label there then copy and paste to the drawing.

but what about the shading on the lower hull? It doesn't look physically correct to my eyes with one tone.

Make the bottom shade lighter. Shipbucket drawings have only one shade color and this is sufficient. These are essentially technical drawings showing radar fit, armaments, railing position, electronics, etc and not illustrations.
