Hmmm... Tim... are we applying double standards now? Stating that the statement "get a rope..." followed by an apparently jestering smiley is inflammatory and using your moderator power to hand out a warning, while calling the Civil War "The War of Southern Treason"? You probably know that something like that will be ill regarded in certain parts of the South.
Besides that, you're factually wrong, and, so was President Lincoln too - technically speaking. It was no treason, since there wasn't the kind of awareness of the value of the Union as we possess today. Nor were there any statutes in the Constitution against cessation either. It was all very tragic, fought for the very wrong reasons and very foolish in retrospect. But that's something we can afford, some 150 years later. But treason, no, not in any legal sense. Moral? Well, that's up to any individual to make that judgement, but legally? No, and again no! So, in other words, before you swing your mighty moderator's gavel around, take a look in the mirror and see what you may have written, and censor yourself.
Aside from all this, the drawings are gems from an ill-documented navy that committed a superhuman effort trying to stop the inexorable tide of Union armies from closing the pincer grip around the waist of the Confederacy. And we would like to see the Union Navy equally represented, since they only did their duty to their Country and thus are equally deserving of a full memorial. It is, btw, most fitting that it happens now, 150 years on the dot since the outbreak of the Civil War.
