The masts could do with some work, but I'm not sure how to explain it though.
Mind if I give one of them a try?

No, by all means, if you can make an improvement to what I have, why in the world would I say "no"?

Well, some people are touchy about their work. Anyway, I'll see if I can't get something done by the end of the day.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. My goal/theory is to get a good drawing... period. If that involves a number of people making additions and tweaks, then thats what ought be done. So, please, do your thing! :D

Here you go

I've retouched the fore mast.
Oh and while I was at it I toned down the rather extreme shading of the funnels.

now..... on to the sails. :? This could be fun, and by fun I mean "I hope I don't tear out my hair because even though I'm old I'm not going bald yet"

And on a completely unrelated topic, has anybody "claimed" USS Georgia BB-15 that you know of? I tried wading through all the "I want to do this" threads, but there are just so many of them....

Not that I know of.
Anyway, when you do the sails remember that they should be displayed on the far side of the ship. At least that's how I drew the spars.
No reason to cover up all your hard work after all.

If you want to draw it, go ahead and do it. I ignore the worklist threads myself. I've discovered that they're mostly masturbatory fantasies and 90% of the stuff never gets drawn anyway!

Well, these past few days I have made an alarming and unfortunate discovery about myself. Apparently, I am completely useless at drawing sails that actually look like, well, sails and not some rectangular bit of doodoo. I also believe I may be scaring our cats some each time I make yet another hopeless attempt at drawing them. :?

So, if anybody here is just whiz-bang at drawing sails and wants to give it a shot, I would be more than happy to share credit on that drawing. I can even provide you with pics and sideviews of it with sails set.

Any takers? :(
