Does anyone know what happens to the old ships models often found in the windows of RN recruitment establishments.I can't believe they just throw them in a skip.I would say they probably work out to be about 1/100 scale. Can't find anything on the net.

A good idea would be contacting the RN itself and ask.

Yeah, I've tried that one several times and only drawn blanks :x .I used to spend ages looking at them in the windows,Tigers,Counties,Leanders the lot.Usually the PO used to come out and get you to sign on,then go away scratching his head, when I said I only like looking at the models.

I wouldn't be surprised if many of them were either given away to museums or sold on surplus auctions. And given my own very brief encounter with British bureaucracy they were probably labelled office supplies or some such.
Another very possible option is that whoever worked there when they replaced them took it home and put on a shelf.
