It's all of fifteen pixels too long, and if we use Wiki for size, yours is two pixels too short. For f*cks sake, just shorten the existing drawing, it's perfectly servicable. Besides, using that rendering as a source is not gonna do you much good: it's outdated, you really should use photographs of the actual ship. Like I did...

BTW, the mistake comes from using 1 foot = 0.3 meters, instead of 1 foot = 0.3048 meters, as I used to do...

What a way to get back to the forums, reading this crap...

The rendering i use is good for the outer lines.
Wich i only use it for.
As you can see from my last update with the johan de witt.
It is completely different.
And yes i use real photo's, plus i see the ship class every day (isnt that enough?)

And changing the existing drawing would take more time then do a new one.*plus the lenght is exact good, according the ''monteursboek'' of the lcf*
You only hate this because you think your credits wont come back.
Wrong it will.

Plus this one will also bring a top view along with the side view.

So enjoy the new ship and move along.
All happy ending.

I can see a few basic changes, nothing major though that couldn't be added to the existing drawing. If the original was bad then I'd say maybe but the fact is there is little, if anything, wrong with the original.
Why people insist on drawing umpteen versions of the same thing is beyond me.

If you're so cool, then why did you put the S1850M radar on it, instead of the SMART-L radar? The British may use the same base electronics, but their antenna is larger than that of the SMART-L.

That took me an hour and a half. Why isn't your drawing finished yet?

Do not presume to know why I don't like this. You do not have a window into my mind. I do not like this because you're basically being useless here.

So go right ahead, and use that modified drawing, which cost me a lot less time than you redrawing the entirety of it.

Holy shit, what is it with some people. Drawings get modified all the time here, details added, etc. If a base drawing is perfectly usable, why bother with a new one?

the radar is an new drawing of the APAR, not the S1850M. although I am not sure about the good dimensions either.... do you have some refs? (also for my 3d model of it)
on most other points I agree with you, mitch is apparently redrawing all modern Dutch combat ships instead of modifying. in case of the Rotterdam and JDW I understand that, but in this case......
I also agree that the THALES renders aren't good enough to base this on, even for the outlines there are mistakes in it.
