What a beautifully classic ship. I love the modern warships, but I am bedazzled by this era of ship.

Nice Dido. Too bad they didn't serve for too long.
Thanks again chaps, and yes shipmate, they had limited lives due to wartime construction; plus, they really were too cramped for any realistic updating into the missile age. That said I think I've done a decent job on Novice's hull :)

Very nice you could as AU make her service last longer even fit her with Seacat

Sure, and maybe upgrade the sensor fit and update the light aa. I'm not sure how good the 5.25-in would be in the strictly surface role, as I'd assume it would be too slow against low level fast aircraft. The Babur was in the Pakistan navy for quite a while, but I don't thing she was ever modernised.

Thank you Bill for this excellent update. As a matter of fact I've toyed with the idea of SeaCat on this ship, for a long time, and this drawing have made me think it over. The result of my thoughts will be made public in the AU thread about the post war RN.

This is a cracker Bill. The Dido's were good looking ships and all those post-war improvements didn't detract from that beauty.
Alas ships like these were overtaken by newer technology (jet planes, stand-off missiles, atom bombs etc.) but they were fine ships while they lasted to fill the gap between the old school and newer missile-armed tincans that followed.
