Just as some advice, I'd remove the black lines around the centerline deck markings.

Heuhen just posted a new and properly sized 3/70 in the USN systems thread.

Except, it isn't. Both are wrong, and by about the same amount too. I haven't posted it (because Erik was the one doing the checking), but the classic one from Erik is slightly too large, and the new one from Heuhen is slightly too small.

"Deck penetration"!!

I have used the new 3"/L70 and 5"/L54 gun turrets made by heuhen and TimothyC
but all the crow's nest on the starboard side and port side were to small for them.
So in this case the reference drawing is wrong. I have changed it now.
Bow and aft is ok.
Here it is:

Wow! This looks wonderful. I have seen a few drawings
in magazines about this never-built supercarrier, but none
of them did this design any justice. I wonder, if this ship
had been built, would most (or all) of the carriers in the
USN today have no island superstructure?

CVA-59 started construction to an island-less design, but was changed during construction. An island is just so darn useful as a place to keep control and antennas.

That too. One interesting side note is that space was reserved for a nuclear reactor in the long term production plans for the United States Class carriers. They wanted a nuclear reactor not for cruising range, but so they didn't have to design the complicated uptake structures.
