My only thing is the rudder. Try moving the props forward and space them out a little bit so that you get some room to tweak the space for the rudder to go in.

Got any suggestions on rudder shape and design? I will be the first to admit my lack of knowledge in that area approaches the stunning.

the stern section, cleaned of any encumberances.

For this time period, I've normally seen your typical curved trapezoid design, but there are definitely exceptions to that. Try looking around at contemporary vessels. I can't really explain all of them just because there are a wide array of such systems as the rudder.

Thought I might try another cruiser. This one is based on the UK Hawkins class.

That cruiser is very interesting! And, BTW thanks for using proper ships' boats for your design - it enhances it considerably! I guess you spied the British C- and D-class cruisers?

I've seen them, yes, but I wasn't thinking of them when I put the boats on there. I was just trying to go "time frame appropriate".

The Hawkins class cruisers are on my work-list, HMS Hawkins herself as in 1942 is about 30% done. I've had some problems with my drawing pc recently, which prevented me from drawing as much as I wanted. Anyway the above cruiser is nice and having some food lines, though not the same as the Hawkins class.

Nope, not the same at all. I didn't want identical. I just used the Hawkins as the basis. I've always liked the way that class looked.
