Ok guys, remember when comparing gas prices, you're moving in totally different universes. Here, in the US we use the Gallon as a measurement, so I pay about $3.35 for regular unleaded. But a gallon is approximately 4.6 liters, so measured that way, we still have a relatively speaking cheap gas (though most Americans would most vehemently disagree!) But then I'm originally from Sweden, where the last gas price I noticed was SEK 14/L. Did I mention that I drive a gas guzzler, an Infiniti?
I drive a REAL gas-guzzler... a 1/2 ton Chevrolet pickup that gets 19-20 m.p.g. Of course, I need something like that considering all my 'recreational activities' (pulling a boat, hauling firewood, pulp wood, hay, father's tractor, etc) so I say it's worth it.
And gas here is relatively cheap- but it's still too expensive all things considered.
I remember being able to buy 10 gallons of gas, a six pack and a can of Cope for $20 and getting change back.
15% more than a regular tanker...
seems like just one more reason to raise the cost of a gallon of gas to me.
Construction cost has next to nothing to do with the final price. Moving the oil via ship accounts for less than 3% of the total cost of the final product.
That's still a dime a gallon for me ATM- which is (to this stingy Reb) a lot after I fill up the 20+ gallon tank on my truck, which gets 20 miles to a gallon.
