I think I got the funnel thing fixed? :?

Added the armor belt and a few more 20mm, too.

Uhm that works too. It's a good design (I think). As for speed, what people forget is that the Iowas were unusually fast, and that a 28-30 knot battleline is what most fleets ended up being.

The space after the rear main gun director looks quite empty, maybe something like secondaries director can go there.

OK. I was kinda at a loss as to what to put there. I was originally going to use that as the hanger for the floatplanes when I had the catapults midships, but it sort of lost its purpose when I moved them aft. If you can think of anything else useful I could put there, I'm all ears. :)

My totally madness seaplane idea: Place the seaplane hanger as where it was and move the catapult to where the X Turret is, then when it's time to switch to helicopter, there's a perfect place for helicopter :D
Semi-real life example: Takao class Heavy Cruiser.

And where do you propose I put X turret?

Nah, my proposal is just a proposal from one of my old drawings which is gone with my lost USB. For that space, the simplest way to slightly cut it down and stuck some AA gun or Secondaries director on.

Oh, I hate when that happens. I had, at one time, 6000+ stamps designed for Grays Harbor, everything from 1840 to 2006. Then my hard drive committed suicide and I lost every bloody thing I had on there. I've managed to redo about 1000 of them so far is all.

Well, Ive got the secondary directors to the sides of the fore and aft superstructures already, so I may go with your suggestion of adding some additional AA batteries. Maybe cut it down, move the main gun director forward, and have a stepped platform for a couple twin 20's or 40's?

If you ask "why did you do the rudder and propellers like that?" I'll probably answer "....ummm... got a better idea?" and mean it quite sincerely. Really.

You mean like 33-35 knots? That´s as fast as cruisers and most detsroyers. Is it true that the USS New Jersey achieved 35.2 knot during a speed trial? I have read that somewhere, but don´t know where. I know the Iowa class with a light displacement has a theoretical max speed of 35 knots. 33 Knots was the max speed with combat displacement. 31 knots was the typical cruising speed with the fast carriers.

Zephyr, may I ask why you have two huge air search radars? By the looks of it, a CXAM-1 or SK, and a SK-2. One should be enough. The CXAM-1 was standard in 1940-1941. The SK took over in 1942. The SK-2 became the standard in mid 1945.
