Great work Colo and also very timely given the recently flaring in the war of words over the islands and the recent furore over Prince William and HMS Dauntless.
Whatever the politics this is a fine tribute.

Agreed :) , a very nice rendition, and these old warhorses with a bit of modernisation look attractive - and still carry a punch in the right circumstances - the Belgrano would have made mincemeat of the modern RN warships if ever let within range. My only querie is that there is no hull number - unless this was not shown at the time?

(Last time off topic: 'Singapore Burning' by Colin Smith. Penguin paperback ISBN 0-141-01036-3. I've got a library copy, though may buy it as well - it is IMHO such a definitive history of that terrible debacle. I also have an AU project on Force Z you might be interested in, which I'll try and post asap.)

Thanks guys. As for the hull number, I checked several photos, but it doesn't seem like Belgrano or its sister Nueve de Julio ever had hull numbers painted on their hulls.

"En el año 1968, a fin de modernizar su poder antiaéreo, le fueron instalados dos montajes cuádruples de misiles “Sea Cat” uno por banda. El 4 de Noviembre de ese año se hicieron las primeras pruebas quedando el sistema plenamente operativo, convirtiéndose en la primera nave de la Armada Argentina en estar equipada con misiles. También fueron modernizados los radares principales instalándose “SQ” de Phillips."

Traslated. In 1968 were installed the sea cats and the radar was a "SQ" from phillips.

Im argentinian, if you want i can post your "Belgrano" in a specialiced forum of southamerican armed forces or help you translate any article you want from spanish to english.

Sure, I haven't worked on this ship for some time but I would appreciate help fixing any errors with the drawing.
