He did one of them. The first three CLGs were all slightly different from each other.

Here's the Baltimore after Mare Island refit, summer of 1944:

And the ship as it appeared with Measure 32 design 16d camouflage, an Ocean Gray 5-O and Black over Light Gray 5-L splinter scheme:
