The wessex's are neat drawings, thougth I didn't expect anything less ;)
However, I would not be going in for drawing the cockpit interior shaddows as so suddenly when the rather well established style has avoided them for so long now.

In simply offering my opinion, I don't think it would be too distracting. The way I see it, it's the same as doing top views.

No, making top views of aircrafts would be the same thing ;)
The idea of uniformal style is quite dependable that the drawing style is not changed every week so the mass of artists can keep up with it.

I think every artist brings somthing to the table without changing the original standard style.
like DP is doing cockpits, Bombhead topviews of carriers, ALVAMA insane detail and so on...
you can spot the artist without even looking at the credits.
It's great and i think that should get a more possitive approach.

Yeah, the style will progress eventually, but still there are points and times when us "upstanders" needs to stood up and guide it to the correct path. Things like topviews were drawn by Shiplover well before this forum even ;) and there is clear difference on drawing new things with same style and drawing same things with different style.

Point noted, and I agree.
