Did some reformatting work. Ships will now be listed by era. Also, as Colosseum did with North Point, I have decided to stop keeping separate lists for the Shipbucket and NS versions of Dreieinig. Maps so far are only for the Shipbucket version, as so far they have no region in NS.

Addendum: The SB Map information is mostly for historical continuity, as Dreieinig now exists in SMS. SMS maps will follow at some point.

First off the information and data:

Introduction and Background:

Timeline of ship classes:

Map (Earth-based version):

Naval Ensigns:

Parts Sheets:

NOTE: Ships will be listed for the SMS version of Dreieinig. At the end a listing will be given of the other designs that got left out of the fleet roster.

The Modern Fleet:

Carriers:

Seeadler Class CVN (Original Design): Largest ship ever designed by the Dreieinig Marineflotte, Seeadler encorporated several experimental systems.

[ img ]

Seeadler Class CV (As built): The original Seeadler was redesigned radically before construction started, resulting in the following vessel.

The extra elevator and full flight deck made air operations much more effective. The redesign was brought on by engineering difficulties with the Linienblitz and EMRG projects.

Sonnenkralle Class SCSN: The most common "Carrier" of the Marineflotte,
this was a modified Project 1143 Krechyet, one of which was purchased from the Russian Federation. The ship used the Dreieinig EAST system. EAST, Electromagnetic-Assist Short Takeoff, used a combination of an EMALS type launcher, synchronized with the vector thrust system of the F/A-9V Sonnenhawk fighter. The end result was akin to a ski jump, but without the extra mass needed. Eventually other ships of the class were built as new construction. Like most larger Dreieinig ships, this class was intended to carry the Linienblitz C-PAWS ABM system. Delays in deveolpment led to the system being replaced with a large Mk90 VLS system. She could also not carry the 5th generation Gespenst fighter, do to the limited size of her elevators.

Next post will have the modern era Schlatteflotte: [BBGN]

Wow, welcome to SciFi! Phasers at Shipbucket. Who commands that ship, Cpt. Kirk? :D No matter, I like it! (old Trekkie me)

Refitting an Unryu class is um... an interesting idea.

Wrong Amagi!

Amagi class as in the sister ship of Akagi. Idea I had for the original ships (Other then SMS Baden) was that they could modify ship hulls, but not build new ones. And yeah, Amagi was probably too badly damaged by the Kanto Earthquake to be towed...but hey.

The modern one was actually suggested by the Grand Chieftain of the native triubes (one of the three Triachs), He suggested that the three-deck configuration was like a representation of the nature of the nation as a whole.

In any case, the Battle Fleet: [Earler Baden refits included since she spanned all the periods of the fleet's history)

SMS Baden was the first of the fleet. She is identical to the Kaiserlichemarine ship and as such can be found under the Real Designs-Germany section of the Archives. She went through a series of refits.

SMS Baden-1940's Refit

In the aftermath of the battle with KMS Adm. Scheer, Baden was sent to America for a major refit. This included radar, additional antiaircraft armament, re-engining, and increased elevation for the main battery.

SMS Baden-1960's BBG Refit

As missiles became a more integral part of naval warfare, Baden was converted into a BBG design. The most notable technology introduced was the Mk15 GMLS. This was a modification of the standard Mk11 GMLS used by the USN. Modifications eventually allowed a wider range of missiles to be fired, including ASROC.

[ img ]

SMS Baden-1994 Refit

The last refit applied before she became a museum ship, this included updates to the radar, the new Fischadler Strike Missile, and lastly the experimental Lichtstrahl LADS. More a tech demonstrator then a proper SLEP refit, as even the Dreieinig engineers could only keep a ship operational for so long.

[ img ]

BBGN Lettow-Vorbeck 2012 Refit

Though called a comprehensive SLEP refit, this was actually a new construction vessel. The ship was utilized mostly as a training vessel, as it was obvious to even the most traditional Admirals that the Battleship's days lay in the past. Was also intended as a testbed for certain experimental weapons. (Advanced Fleet, will be shown later)

Next will be the Surface Combat Fleet, cruisers and destroyers.

Phasers???

LADS systems, A C-PAWS based on extrapolations of the Chair Heritage program from the 80's, and Electromagnetic Railguns similar to those now being developed by General Atomics.

Part of the theme of the Dreieinig Reichstaat is that in areas of high-energy applications they are 5-10 years in advance of the current day. They also do not have the political obstacles to these systems that exist in our world.

They are no where **remotely** close to the level of technology shown in Star Trek.

1960's refit and still a casemated secondary single purpose battery, instead of a secondary battery of DP guns? I also question the proximity of the Mk-11 GLMS to the main battery guns. The gun firing shock is not kind to equipment. I can't say however if a Mk-41 VLS would provide some protection to the missiles.

The Mk15 (Modified Mk11) GMLS should be far enough away when you consider the rather broad beam of the Bayern class. As far as the casemates, they are there merely out of tradition. By the time the refits were done, it was realized that Baden's purpose was more of a symbol of the nation.

Linienblitz = Tesla weapon?
Lichtstrahl LADS = Laser?
15" Railguns? (you'll need a warpcore to energize this... :D )

Do not say this aint no scifi stuff. Anyway, I like it, go on!

Lichtstrahl: As Raytheon LADS, in final development now
Linienblitz: As per Chair Heritage program of the 1980's.
(A Charged particle accelerator, not a Tesla weapon)

No, it does not need a damned warp core. 1 dedicated PWR powers two turrets. Or to be specific, charges the capacitors for two turrets. All railgun proposals to this date are capacitor based systems.

There are a total of 4 PWR. Reactor 1: Turrets A&B, Reactor 2: Turrets X&Y, Reactor 3: Linienblitz system, Reactor 4: Propulsion. The vessel has electric drive so power can be transfered to propulsion when the main battery or ABM system is not firing.

This is a ship that could be built within the next 5-10 years (Likely closer to 5), comparing it to Star Trek is rediculous.
