Wow, thanks a lot, guys for taking the time on this. There's plenty there to keep me busy for a bit! Some of it's a bit over my head but I'll do my best. :D

Thanks again for help on this drawing. I've been busy moving house so I've had minimal time to spend finishing this off. Finally, I made some of the changes that you all suggested. I've made the propulsion system bigger, changed the secondary armament to Mark 19 4 inch guns. Torpedo tubes have been shifted aft to make room for a boat (from ALVAMA's excellent Almirante Cervera... planning on adding more). Armoured belt has been extended forward and aft. Main and Fore mast arrangement has been changed (Unknown's Town Class). More detailing on the bridge superstructure.

My biggest problem is which directors for which guns. Does anyone have any good links to pages which give information about this? I checked wikipedia but I have't come across any pictures. :geek:

I also need to put something on the platform infront of the bridge. I was thinking of an extra Mk 19 but maybe AA would be more sensible.

Thanks a lot

Well, the 4" is a DP gun. That said, I'd expect to see a lot more light AA given the timeframe. Even if Spain stays out of the war.

Its getting better! As for what Thiel said, I think you could add some sort of structure to add another pair of twin 4" guns and a few more light guns in between the funnels. You could also add a single 20mm gun on the platform aft of the second main turret.

I'd use the same director setup as you have on the bridge on the aft superstructure.
I'd also install 40mm guns abeam both funnels.
If possible I'd install a 4" in the C position. Failing that a 40mm will have to do.
I'm not sure if there's space, but if there is I'd fit another 40mm under the foremost life-raft.
You'll want directors for the above mentioned 40mm guns.
20mm guns would be installed wherever there's space.

You have a huge empty space between the funnels, which I definitely would use to Stowe my ships' boats; it doesn't mean that the ones you've got already need to be removed or moved; just add a full complement in staggered configuration there! Otherwise a hell of a good looking Spaniard!

Ok, I've made the changes, thanks. I'm not sure what the director for a 40mm looks like. Could somebody tell me where I can find one on the forum?

Thanks bezo... I want to put boats there... just not sure how to place a crane to load and unload :?

Actually that seems easy enough to my eyes: either one or two boom cranes can be fitted either behind the fore funnel or slightly abreast of it, towards its aft base (Obviously that'd be two booms then!) you have plenty of space to experiment with!

Nice progress, looking good.
Bezo's advice on boats and cranes sounds good, you've plenty of room.

Yes, a crane and ships boats between the funnels. I would also swap the 4" dp for twin 4.5's as I previoulsy suggested - you've got yourself a large hull so you can allow that; and yes, nore light aa. This is looking good, one of the better own designs :)
