HMS Duncan 1904

Still a WIP, with minor shading, railing, canopies, anchors, rigging, ships' boats and underwater hull still to be tweaked/completed.

My first pre-dreadnought drawing, I quite like how it has turned out. Many thanks to Bezobrazov for his ships' boats thread! I will also be drawing a 1914 scheme drawing, in grey paint.

This is delicious! I hereby command you, in the King's name to draught the following classes of battleships: Majestic, Royal Sovereign and HMS Renown, for His Mayt: s exclusive pleasure. You shall draw the latter as flagship of the Mediterranean Fleet (1899 - 1903) - ( I was inclined to do this myself, but, seeing your masterpiece in progress, I strongly urge you to accept the commission, Jabba, as you have richly proven your ability thereon!)

Very nice. I love the look of the old pre-dreads.

No, Bombhead, that'd not be a good recommendation since the Duncans had a different underwaterhull compared to the earlier Canopus-class. Also their dimensions were very different. I can send Jabba the underwater hull drawings I've got from RA Burt, but just imposing it on the existing drawing wouldn't do well..

Excellent work Jabba. Another handsome pre-dread of the RN that looks set to be a stunner.

first look: wow, awesome!

second look: is your source a blueprints-drawing? If yes, compare it with photographs, you will discover minor wrong details
