I'll reckon that "SM-2 IIIA" means block 3A, so thanks for the info. And for clarifying all the mess about the danish 76mm. Nice to be wiser about the weapons :D ;) The SM2 will be corrected :!:

Yeah Thiel, the Thetis its 76mm was way different then the Italian one.
It had a different housing (The one from italie is just rough and hard) but from Danish navy is smooth and different material aswell i quess (gives different sound when hitting it).
And their loader plus rocking arms are different aswell.
And i saw that the oil pressure pipes where on the other side aswell.

Why do they do this? Isnt it cheaper to use the one already created?

Norway does the same with their stealth housing, they produce it on their own... ( i got told)

It might have something to do with its operational environment. If the fiberglass was rough the ice could get into it and make it crack.
Don't know about the innards though.

Hi, been following this fantastic forum for a while, just created my account to say congratulations on a very nice piece of work indeed. I wanted to comment and make some constructive comments:

* There's a "pilot access door" behind the RHIB-bay, approx 1 meter below on both sides.
* There are two water drainage holes from the missile deck, you can see them as two rectangular holes on the sides just above the gangway area.
* There's a covered goods handling bay (a little smaller than the RAS-bay) between the gangway and the life rafts (there's a crane inside that can lift heavy goods on board).
* The RAS-opening is covered by three removable plates (not the current two) and can be opened as a platform below the plates.
* There's a emergency fuel dropping system just aft of the RHIB-bay (a little hatch)
* The gangway door opens the opposite way and are connected to the gangway (no space between)
* There's an additional mast on top of the APAR mast where the ESM mast will be placed.
* I am somewhat in doubt whether the CEROS should be lowered a bit (!?) down behind the stealth-shielding on its platform in front, I can investigate next time i get to Korsør if you want me to?

I've found some pictures where you can see most of these small alterations to your great drawing i've mentioned:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... ER_001.jpg
http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/shipde ... eader=true

I'll finish off with a little bonus info; The middle mast will soon be fitted with a Terma Scanter 6000 surface search radar.

I hope you can use my information to make the picture even better :)

:D Yep! Thanks a lot. I will go through your informations and add and correct to that. Do you got a picture of the Terma Scanter 6000 and do you know the exact placement of it? And yes all extras you might detect are valuable so I'll appreciate that ;)

The only picture I was able to find when I googled the Scanter 6000 looked almost identically to the 2001-series on the Absalon-class. The exact placement of the radar is still pending - there was a EU tender for the installation a few weeks ago. The actual fitting should happen within a few months or so the plan says (subject the usual, rather tentative, naval planning ;) )

All right ;) I will then let Huitfeldt rest for a while untill then so I can make all adjustment in one time. Right now I'm doing a rather heavy task with USS Sacramento which I offer all my concentration :D

I'm sorry for the time it took for me to come up with a reply, but I've been very very busy the last 6 months and my poor post count does not permit me to send private messages.

I have uploaded a picture of Iver Huitfeldt to a file hosting server (if this is against board policy I apologise and I'll remove it asap) and added my comments to the picture: http://www.mediafire.com/i/?n9ektma4el9s8uc. The pictures are all found on marinetraffic and you can find them there for reference. I'm sorry for my comments being in Danish in the file, I hope you can cope ;)

Wrt the Scanter 6000 my immediate assessment is that it is quite similar to the Scanter 2001 (at least externally) of the Absalons, but I cannot release any close up pictures of military equipment.

I hope you will find my work useful

Thanks for your effort but there is something wrong with your link. It's blocked by my firewall which tells me there are damaging traffic in your link  Maybe you have to scan your files for virus etc. And are your sure your hosting server is ok?

Hmm, it seems to be working on both my computers (separate internet connections), but I can email it to you if you want? Just pm me your email address if you're interested

edit:
Since it isn't working as I have planned, I have taken the file down from the server.
