First of all i'd like to apologize for my absence, and explain the reason behind it. After that, I have a ship design I feel I should show you guys for a good critique.
About a month ago, my laptop died on me. Something with the fan and it overheating and all that jazz. Since then I've had finals which have taken an insane amount of time from me but now I only have French left so I have time to dick about again. Before this occurred, I guess I just didn't feel up to doing drawing anymore, but I feel (somewhat?) motivated again, so I'm back.
The ship I have to show you is, or is supposed to be, a frigate from what I understand of the role of the ship. According to everything I've read so far, frigates are meant to protect the fleet from air and submarine threats, while the destroyer's role is more of an offensive one, knocking out surface targets. If I'm wrong, please correct me.
The ship, the Kormosk class, is for Nation States, so please take this into account when reviewing the weapon systems, as they are only based off of contemporary weapons in both aesthetics and function.
So here it is, the Kormosk class frigate. She's armed with a 130mm deck gun on her fore-deck, the (my region is still looking for a name for the medium range surface-to-air missile), and the Svelge close-in surface-to-air missile. Amidships, the Kormosk class is armed with the SS-ASM-01 "Inja" missile system. Finally, to fill the anti-submarine role, the Kormosk class carries a compliment of either two small utility helicopters (which fit inside the hangar area) armed with either torpedoes or depth charges, or a single heavy utility helicopter on her aft heli-deck.
The Kormosk is driven by two gas turbine engines driving four screws propelling her up to 35 knots.
Opinions/critiques?
I almost want to extend the heli-deck to even her shape out, what do you all think?
