Not particularly. They were neither the first to think of it, test it or built it.

But they were most successful, Ho 229 was almost pure SF in WWII time.

How so? The Northrop N-1M had been around for four years by the time the first unpowered Ho. IX prototype flew.

But he was still powered by piston engines, 229 was jet fighter. With slightly better aerodynamics and overall better design fuselage.

Well thats true, it was not a BIG revolution but a small one. It was a radical departure from tradition, true tailless jet fighter. N-1M was only a technology demonstrator.
