Nice. The forward superstructure / brigde look a little japanese... I still think that SS underestimate the fuel carried and thus range. In real lift the figure would be at lest two times whats suggested. At 14 knots she should be capable of 2000-2750 NM......

Yes, she is abit inspired by the Japanese, I just thougt european/ US DDs from the 1930s where so boring so I looked at the japanese ones.

Here is her succesor, the Bielke. A bit odd with a heavy 6" battery. It was thought that the long barelled 105mm was too light for effective ASuW work and when the news arrived of the 150mm gunned german destoryers a navy siftly changed to a 6" in design. The mounts used where originally planned for some cruisers.

But of course they suffered from the same problems as the germans, poor seaboats and slow rof. The AA role was a bit better though with the new rapid 75mm twin mount and the good 40/36 L60 mount. The had by swedish standards a small torpedo load with just 5 533mm TTs.

After the two more or less expremental classes of destroyers, the Adlercreutz and Bielke classes the navy choose the safe way when war was imminent...
The von Cardell class was in many was q quite conservative design, mounting 12cm guns and 40/36 L60 AAA. They where built in large numbers together with the D-type /von Döbeln enlarged subtype to adjust some of the problems with the design.

nice desing, but 87 000 shp seems kinda exessive for such mediocore sized vessel... most of its peers mounted about half of that power

Yeah, and you're not going to see a proportionate increase in speed, either. Maybe a few knots at best.

Its a SpringSharp thing - I modeled her after the IRL Townclass with 38000shp - 39kts. She is a bit bigger but should have about the same amount of SHP, but then she does only around 30kts.

That is the main problem with Springsharp, it doesn't sim destroyers well at all.

The Bielke is very novel, more like a mini-CL than a destroyer but certainly packs a punch. Would there be room for triple turrets in that hull without making it quite fat and consequently losing speed?

Hmm....yea, she is a bit fat, but not terribly.
I wasn't happy with her bridge so I redesigned it, to a more sleek one.

I imagine she can cause some trouble especially to japanese destroyers during torpedo attacks when she can open fire at much longer range than a normal DD. She carriers the 152mm m/34 L55 which has the IRL range record in Swedish naval gunnery @ 34km!!
