LOL... Blackbuck, at the risk of showing our ages, the Civ franchise has been going on for two decades now.
That's a bit more than 'several years.' ;)

Until I misplaced the disk I still played Civ2 Gold (as recently as 2010 even)! At least the C&C games are not that old yet!

Here's a good one- small, but strategically important:
After the Spanish Civil War, the provinces of Aragon, Valincia, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands become independent under the direction of (insert rebel leader's name here). With the common ethnic identity of the old Aragon to unite them, these provinces reform into the Aragonian (insert descriptor here).

There is no real battle fleet, but the small nation has a coast defense and trade defense based fleet. The fleet does have the rather unique position of being able to control the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea, which gives it a rather unique strategic position... and means that several larger nations (Italy and England most notably) actively court alliance with the fledgling nation in order to keep the Straits of Gibraltar open.

Ooooooh. Now that is an idea with potential!

I still play S.M.A.C. a whole lot, it's the perfect game for my little Netbook; CivIII is on there as well

And my idea is open for anyone that wants to take it... I don't know a lot about the area, nor the culture. As a result, I would be ill-suited to take it on.

I'd rather do a megacorp but I will keep that idea in mind.

PM me with ideas please.

Countries are easier and more plausible to contend with.

This megacorp will probably have at most one to two small battleships/heavy cruisers.

For debt collecting.

You did it wrong.

It is "All your base are belong to us." ;)

Again PM me with ideas please.

How about you pick a real ship first.

Who knows, you might learn something.
