the armored belt was an little mistake of me... I have fixed it already. and grey underwater hull looks good on it as well, was that the real colour of those ships back then?
thanks for the colours for the ship as well, I might do it in both victorian and grey colours :D

a bit of experimenting with the colours.... still need to redo the masts and fix the structure. after that I can go detailing and shading.... but this is mainly how the ship will look finished. the ship still looks a bit bare though.... anybody knows what I have to add?

Some aerials, flag, and maybe jack, torpedo-nets?, and color the hull scuttles (windows)

The shading around the secondary guns seems too dark, and it looks like you've used two-toned shading on the bridge.
The blue shade you've used on the anchor seems a bit odd. Not wrong per ce, I've just never seen anyone with blue anchors, not even ships with a blue camo pattern.
I'm not familiar with when the design is from, but since it's a pre-dread, some gold filigree around the bow and stern probably wouldn't be out of place.
The fighting tops are in all probability full platforms, so you shouldn't be able to see the mast were it passes through them.

about the shading you are right, it will be removed, but as this is still a WIP and I'm experimenting with the colours.... that's also where the blue anchor comes from ;)
and thanks for the tip on the gold on the bow and stern.

some suggestions:
the anchor it too modern
some gold on bow and aft
the white line on the water level
the yellow-ochre funnels

started again on this ship. added torpedo nets and a few small parts. now starting on the masts, then it is detailing and shading time! ;)
