Actually, Kamikaze originally did not have a name. She was completed as D-1 on 19 December 1922, and redesignated DD-1 on 1 April 1924. She wasn't given the name Kamikaze until 1 August 1928. So if this drawing were to show her as she looked in the 1920s, all it would need would be the addition of the number '1' and some coloring on the funnel tops, as evidenced by this pic showing her on 23 December 1922, three days after being commissioned.

Best,

-Matt

Is this ship of the Minekaze class?

The Kamikaze is considered to be a seperate class, but is pretty much just a development of the earlier Minekaze class. They are of nearly identical size and armament.

Both the Minekaze- and Kamikaze-classes, as well as the earlier Wakatake-class and the later Mutsuki-class, were all built to pretty much the same design: that of the Momi-class, with various modifications to distinguish the various classes.
