Well, if you're going to invade the U.S. at the head of the Communist army - you're obviously will be very concerned about issues of logistics, right?

I present to you a "Red Alert"-class ocean escort!
Attachment:

5800-ton ship has a flight deck angle, and is designed to use anti-helicopter and fighter STOVL Mig-23PD (such a project existed)

Own weapons:

- 2 4-round "Metel" ASM launchers

- A set of M-2 "Volkhov" air defense with 2 12-round magazine for long-range B-750 missiles, and low-altitude SAM B-601D

Interesting design, but I'd have to say you chose one of the worst SAMs possible to arm it with, as that system was generally considered a failure. Otherwise, I question the location of that forward CIWS--maybe move it in forward of the launcher, where it and the Drum Tilt radar aren't getting an unhealthy diet of missile exhaust?

It's actually not a bad design save for a few considerations:

1.) There is no way a hull that small is going to handle aircraft aside from VTOLs (ideally helicopters)

2.) SA-2 was a very large missile with many of the same problems that you're going to encounter with BOMARC (not quite as bad, but it's a very large missile no less). Plus, given all that, it just wasn't a very good missile.

Well, if he could increase the size by 100%, maybe that would help?

1.) The beam would have to be disproportionately wide to accommodate the flight deck.
2.) The gasses from the ships funnel would possibly interfere with the approach.
3.) Just because the airplane appears to fit on the deck in 2D doesn't mean that it would in 3D.
4.) Where does the aircraft go when it's not on the deck or in the air... Hammerspace?

Focus on building a good AA/ASW escort, a great AA escort, a great ASW escort, or a carrier.
Putting all things on a single hull is mutually exclusive!

In regard to what problem, the aircraft or the missiles?

If the former, no. Unless he wants to do a full-sized carrier I think he should stick to helicopters.

In regard to the latter, a longer hull would help (and of course he'd have to redistribute his superstructure potentially, depending on what he does with his aviation facilities). An SA-2/S75 ship would be interesting along the same lines of the BOMARC ship given the limitations of both missiles, but my first choice would be to go with an actual naval missile.
