Very nice and thoughtout ship, just a small nitpick
~There should be shading on the barbettes

It would be better if you tried 3x3 16''.
As it was more or less the layout of all battleships with 16'' guns.
Do you research at all before posting?

Also, I think the portholes should be larger

That's a mighty tall slab of armor on her sides; I gotta wonder if it's not too heavy!
I like the slightly outdated gun layout; seems that some countries persisted with separate anti-ship and anti-aircraft batteries far longer than they should... but it lends character.

Sorry PB I should have said 'bits' or something instead of parts (parts in the SB sense meaning specifically weapons, props, radars etc). I was referring to, as you said, things like hulls, superstructures etc.
No probs Jabba. in some ways this is academic,as non of these drawings will ever get uploaded onto the archive; but again, new members should pay attention to how the Forum works; meaning, number 1, when a moderator posts pay attention ;) my involvement here is simply to encourage good practice; and on that subject, some new members need to take note of how to present their work.

Well off cource! If it ain't nitpick, it aint shipbucket! :D But I should point out that there is shading on the barbettes.
Zoom in and use a magnifying glass and you should see it just fine! ;) :D
I will fix the shading for next version.

I can thin out the armour belt further, if so be required.
In 1924 it aint no biggie if a battleship is designed in that maner. In late 20's/early 30's and onward that arrangement should be considered obsolete, but I don't think we've quite hit that stage yet. Though I do agree. There is something cool about the divided secondary artillery. And that's the way I'll keep it.
EDIT: I originally missunderstood about the armour belt. But according to Springsharp, yes, that height should work just fine.

Portholes on your ship look funny, to put it mildly. On most ships portholes are not staggered like you did here. Also the size do not meet the Shipbucket standard, they are supposed to be four by four, with the outline in black around it. Apart from that, U cann't add anything new, only to say that it's good to see a new-commer listening to advice.

You may want to check deck height between the portholes. As it is now, there's simply not enough height 'tween decks! And, yes, potholes should be bigger, unless they are specific for a section of the ship, such as the superstructure, where their sizes may vary...
