Does anyone know how much space the Mk 11 GMLS takes up underneath the deck and how it's laid out?
I'm playing around with a mid sixties destroyer for my Danish AU and I'd like to fit it with a proper air defence.

My understanding is that it is very close to the Mk-13, to the extent that the Mk-13 was a drop in replacement on the Charles F Adams class DDGs.

To within Shipbucket scale, it's identical.

Has anybody done a top view of the Mk 41 VLS? I've been looking (probably in all the wrong places, I'm sure) and can't seem to find one anywhere. I found the Mk 48 top views, but not anything with the 41.

If this is the case then the launcher assembly drops 3 decks. I served on HMAS Sydney and her mount dropped down to 3 deck (I had to climb the bloody ladder when doing rounds).

Redrawing my entire AU after a long absence from Shipbucket

The schematics of Mk 13 and Mk 22 are freely available, although some of the dimensions are hard to read (and must be re-interpreted with a ruler and some better-printed numbers).

Mk-13 mag has a larger, wider and slightly more deeper 24 outer-16 inner round ring drum mag holding in total of 40 missiles as opposed to the slightly simpler n smaller single ring 16 round drum mag of Mk-22. The complexity of reloading and rotating mk-13 rounds made it more susceptible to derailment and nasty damage inside the magazine drum during launch loading,reloading and round rotating operations which i was shown the end result of one 1st hand onboard HMAS Adelaide in early 1999 when staff were conducting post maintenance test on the system and the unfortunate mishap took place.
