Thanx for the additional sheet, but, thanks to your earlier mailing, I had the correct version...

Updated the drawing, taking advantage of some of the good advice received (yes, read: ace's orders to do this and that! ;) 8-) ) But, aceman, the "Tacan" is really not a Tacan, but a domestically developed IFF, which is actually this flat, so no change there! Hopefully this version is more pleasing to your eyes!

it looks like the USN TACAN to me, I might be wrong though, keep in mind that I mean the one that is on the 1990+ spruances, not the dome one.
I would also love to see some the black lines I mentioned before changed to grey, and maybe some small points also mentioned above (but ok, I respect it if you disagree) other than that it looks great now.

ace, I know you meant the modern version, but it's still not the USN Tacan. Anyway, thanks for your compliments! I did try to emphazise the funnel uptakes more, since you were right about that. Also I had to 'angle' the TTs, a detail you brought to my attention.

well, if you are certain.... still, to me this:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... -01-18.jpg
looks exactly like [ img ]
and not really like what you have drawn.
also, basically every ship has some sort of TACAN on that position, I really doubt yours has the IFF over there. the SPS-49 should have the IFF, and the bar in which it is placed is shown in the pics so....

All in all, a very fine update of a very good looking warship! I was hoping that you might decide to update that drawing one of these days. I do have one small nitpick to make though, I believe that almost all MARCOM/RCN surface vessels were repainted with the blue antifouling paint from 2003 onwards, like so:

Thank you Rainmaker! It's actually no small nitpick at all! In fact, my first edition featured that paint scheme, but I really couldn't get the 'hard' evidence to sustain it, so, unfortunately I dumped it! So, back to try and recreate it then, thanks to your very clear evidence!
