Thanks, Novice. You're probably right; I might have taken shadows of the port side Oerlikons for an aircraft on board.
Well, it's easy fix anyway; I'll re-upload the image shortly.

One of the competed designs that was rejected for Erie would have carried one floatplane.

As far as I'm aware, Erie actually carried a floatplane at some point of time.

Of course. From the time she was completed up to around 1942-1943. Later it was seemed to be redundunt and the space used for light AA.
