Privatization worked pre WW2. It's just how it turned out second time around.

Not to be a snarker or anything, but why is it unfortunate to replace 50 year old and beat up trains?
What Blackbuck said ;)
I used to have an hour long journey home with an almost guaranteed seat every time, but the new S Stock have longitudinal seating which significantly reduces the capacity of seated passengers, resulting in having to stand most of the time. The old trains also have a bit more character, despite being a bit more bumpy at speed. I hope they find another operator once LU is done with them - I heard rumours they made be used around Leeds.

Having not seen any new trains posted here for a long time, and after drawing Concorde, I thought I'd try another British design classic.

British Rail Class 43 Locomotive and Mark 3 Carriages which form the InterCity 125 High Speed Train:

Very good! The 125HST powered by Paxman Valenta had one of the most impressive sounds when passing by at full speed.I have in my computer a video with several passings from an area called Lickey.

The Lickey Incline is close to where I live and is the steepest main line incline in Britain. I had the pleasure of seeing [this] occur.

Thanks! I'm not either, but I thought I'd try something different.
