Thanks "Bombhead"!

next class build for Haram was the "Admiral Smith class" cruiser.

These ships were built on the same rules as "JAG class": Large, exaggerated armament and sturdy.
They were equipped with powerful radars and good communication systems. It was found that the "JAG class" was too slow with its 25/27 knots, so "Admiral Smith class" got more powerfull machines. Mostly they went in escorting aircraft carriers, but they were also built to provide artillery support. When not escorting an aircraft carrier, these cruisers went together with two destroyer, two to five frigates and one support ship. sometimes they had one submarine hanging around.

Well, Bombhead got there first, and I'm glad to second his opinion; and notwithstanding some points of diference, this is such a damn good AU to follow; the drawings are a delight :)

Thanks Portsmouth Bill.

I find it actually easier to draw an AU ship, than a ship of the real world. As long as one remember to put in details. And not rush it, I used 5 / 6 hours on the last boat.

Updated Admiral Smith-class with a top wiew, Will finish it in the next few days!

Next cruiser to draw is Royal-class guided missile cruiser, when I am finish with that one, I will do Destroyers.

Royal class is kind of a sub-class to Admiral Smith class, but it is a completely different type of ship. Bigger, faster, better range, more crew, bigger weapons pack.

The ships were built as a ship that sailed either alone or in a task group of three / four ships. armed to the teeth, and a large crew to ensure that the ship had endurance and could respond to most situations with "Interest". They operated almost never with aircraft carriers.

yes!

shall try to find a better place to the ESSM launcher, but I do not want it to high as it can destroy the ship's center of gravity.

So what does that rear launcher hold? Why can't you just quad-pack into there. I'm sure you're not using all 64 cells for bigger SAMs and SSMs? You could probably get away with an 8 cell either side of a helipad if they were worked into the superstructure of the helicopter deck if you get what I mean, that way there's more symmetry.

Originally I thought that she would be one of those ships that operate alone, but I'm not so sure about that right now.

the big 64 cell keeps all the ordinary missiles while the 8 cell has ESSM, the idea was that they would act as a fast system that can shoot regardless of whether any of the other systems are busy or not. ESSM was a way to have somehow got a new sensor package similar to the NSM, but I think it will be too expensive and advanced for its small task. But you know how it works: first you get an idea, then tries to find why it does not work!

But I can have them built into the helicopter deck, it should not interfere with the ship's center of gravity too much.
