I think it's another sign that says "Sperrgebiet".

10 points for Thiel!!!

From the gallery, special guests my see the liftoff of the death of their enemies. After viewing that they can visit the ballroom behind the funnel and enter the after-destruction-party. Too crazy? You didn't read Jules Verne for long, did you?
Yes, the missile in the mid is the first intercontinental ballistic missile with a nuclear warhead. In this case a A19m, a direct successor to the A9/A10. The missiles are stored empty in the large deckhouse after the fore funnel. They are moved via tracks to the liftoff platform in the mid and fueled up there. You might ask, why no VLS? Because this is around 1950. We did not have the idea yet.
The missile was a real project. It was simply a winged A4 (A9) set on an enormous first stage, the A10. This would have been the first ICBM.
The german physician Kurt Diebner was with Otto Hahn and Werner Heisenberg one of the most promoted scientists of its time. These men worked at the german Kaiser-Wilhelm-Institut until 1945 to invent the first nuclear weapon. In reality they simply went out of time. In this AU, the german nuclear warhead is there.
The large radar on the foremast is a real exisiting prototype of a 3D-radar called 'Panorama'. It was installed on a tower near Berlin. Its performance was superior to all other existing radars.
The ship is named 'Wodan' now, the germanic version of Odin. It was lenghtened by 30m for installation of a fourth pair of 16"-twins and a second pair of A17m-launchers and finally a third pair of 'Taifun'-sam-launchers.

Actual armament:
4x2 31,5"/80cm
8x2 16"/40,6cm
14x2 5"/12,8cm DP
24x2 5,5cm AA full auto
40x2 3cm AA full auto
28x4 3cm AA quad
18x4 2cm AA quad
1x A19m ICBM launcher, 30 missiles stored
4x a17m SSM twin launcher, 36 missiles stored + 8 on launchers
6x 'Taifun' SAM twin launcher, 192 missiles stored + 12 on launchers
10 aircraft, stored in hanger
2cm/3cm might become some more

There are some unusual details. The gallery at the funnel, the ballroom, the small gallery on the bow. The ship could do one thing better than fight: impress. The 'Wodan' is one giant propaganda machine. Therefor not only own VIPs will visit the ship, foreign diplomats will be invited to see the overwhelming power of the german reich. (you recognized sarcasm mode, did you?) And if that impression doesn't help, the blast of nuclear warhead might do so.
Of course, those gadgets like the galleries and the ballroom are out of any armor. Even as the tender areas are. Heavy armor begins behind those areas. With a triple staggered armor platings any weapon will cause superficial damage at its best. You will simply need a nuke to sink the 'Wodan'.

Holy. Crap. I LOVE IT!!! What else remains to be done on her?

Also noticed your work list...can't wait to see those drawings! Will there be versions of the Bismarck- and H-classes as well?

Details, masses and masses of details. This is not just an oversized Bismarck. This is a 700m nightmare of details.
Then there are masses of pixel errors that have to be finished of. 700m of pixel errors.
But the overall design is finished so far. Maybe an aa gun here, another one there. Just details.

Would Meglomania be an adequate enough word to describe this?
