It's looking pretty good, but the shading of the funnels is nonstandard. Likewise under the stern. Nice looking, but won't pass muster for upload. I would encourage you to "fork" the drawing at some point. If you want to have funky shading for your own purposes, that's cool, but you should maintain a variant of the drawing that conforms to standards.

Also, I corrected the title of the thread. "And" ≠ "An". Drives me crazy. /grammarnazi'd
ok, I will remove the shading then, but the hull was done this way because of the critics on my dante from other members. they said it had to be this way........ I know alvama works the same way though, (as he helped me with the dante) so now I don't really know what is correct... I've also used the exact same colouring on my dante, and I received no comments about that...... I hope I don't have to redo that then.

I haven't seen such; you probably will need to revise the shading.

ALVAMA is not the person to ask about correct Shipbucket standards. Neither are other regular members. The Shipbucket standards page should be clear and unambiguous as a stand-alone document. If you are not clear as to an aspect of the standards, consult a moderator or an administrator. That way we can help you do it right, and you can help us make the standards more clear.

he told me that it was the same style as gollevainen used, and I did the dante looking at other italian designs, just as I do whit this ship. but if needed, I will change it right when I start on this ship again.

I don't want to start a fight about it... but this looks like the same funnel and hull shading as I used.[ img ]

what you have done, is to divide apparently circular object into three equal size bars, and given each a different shade,
it makes the funnel look angular octagon.

What you need to do is use only two shades. (I don't really care if you go from dark to ligther or opposite), color only two to three pixels from only one of the sides of the funnel with it.

again some small changes
Great job!
I would like to add some comments. Please take them as suggestions and/or personal opinion.

First of all it is an "ideal" ship and the main goal of Cuniberti was to introduce and to discuss the concept of a monocaliber Battleship.
So I would not add too many details to the original drawings because they will "cover" the primary and the secondary armament.
About colors of the upper part of the ship I would avoid the "cinerine gray" because such color was introduced into the Italian Navy after WW1.
The same is about the hull color: the green paint was introduced just before WW1 so much later than the concept.
Generally speaking the colors of the yeras of Cuniberti's drawing were the Victorian ones but, due to the fact that the ship wasn't built, I would suggest a neutral gray for the upper part.
For the hull you could/should choice between the standard SB red and/or another neutral grey.

Last comment: please correct the waterline taking in account that it is much higher than the actual separation between the green and the grey areas.

of the hull. You follow the real hull as much as possible to correctly descriping its shape.

In shading, the underwater hull allows using of two shades, but then you need to use them only in one pixel tall blocks.

I am now correcting shading, waterline, and hull colouring. but may I ask what the 'victorian' colour scheme looked for the italian navy? and what would that 'neutral grey' look like?
most important parts are in place now(except the hull and the masts) , what's left is a lot of detailing

Send me your e-mail address via PM: I'll show you a WIP with the "Victorian" colors.

BTW take in account that the armoured belt was extending under the water level... and colors are not yet fixed.
For the hull I made a test with grey.
