I am currently working on my "Tre Kronor-class" carriers, projected in the 1950s, launched 1962-66. I have some question regarding drawing carriers.

1. Aircraft - it seems to no real rule regarding how to fit in aircraft. I think it should great to have a special carrier template where you add the aircraft - 1 per wing/ divison.
2. Mast and antennas, I need som inspiration and tips of what antennas you need, especially those for aircraft handling, communication, links, landning id etc.

My main inspiration for my "Tre Kronor" is the french Clemenceau and to some extent US carriers of the Midway and foresstal classes.

The sensors I have in mind right now are:
Philips HOSA LW-01/02
Type 965 air search radar, with a "twin bedstead" AKE-2 antennae
Type 993 surface search
navigational radar
HOSA WM20/ ARTE-62 FC

arnamnet consists of 8x single 57mm m/50B mounts for selfdefence
airwing
16 x JA 36 SeaVixen
16 x A32 H "Måsen"
4x Gannet
2x Scandia AEW
6x Westland Wessex or SudAviationAulette II

You don't need the HSA-LW02 and Type 965, as they do the same job. You also need some sort of a CCA (usualy it is the radome found on the aft side of a carrier island structure), which is used to guide the aircraft when approaching and landing. You also need TACAN and many UHF radio aentenas. All can be found on good carrier drawings, of the 1950-1960's.

Psilander you are most welcome to use anything off of my carriers you may find useful.I'm not sure of the idea of having a template for aircraft numbers etc.The best part of drawing these ships is playing around with the aircraft. It's one of the few things in drawing to SB style where you can use your imagination without having to stick to a drawing and photographs.
