Much better, though I don't understand why you'd want such a large and vulnerable gap between the turret armour and the deck when even Monitor herself didn't have it.

Fixed. Thanks for the critique, it's much appreciated since usually my drawings go unnoticed in the forums making it much harder to realize my mistakes and solve them.

Which country is it supposed to be from? The ships name has a Scandinavian ring to it, though it doesn't appear to have any meaning in any of the Nordic languages. Yule is how Scandinavians pronounce jul which means Christmas, many cities ends on lev and holm means a small sandy island.

Technically its a fictional country, and as for the name, well it does sound a bit like that of the Scandinavian languages, unintentional really, I guess I dredged a few words out of the back of mind believing I had made it up. :|

A few months back ace granted a critique on an early design for a destroyer, and I am glad he pointed out my endless list of mistakes, but after all this time I decided to rework it. So far I have completed the hull, save for the addition of later details and I used the Zumwalt as reference to place the guns. At this point I'm lost on a design for a superstructure, and I don't feel like reusing the Zumwalt's superstructure and radar placement. Currently the hull is still a bit long and I may shorten it some more, although it is better than the 270 meter hull on the original.

As for the pyramid at the top, that was the "defense laser" I had on the original mess of a ship.

may I grant you a few tips?
first look at it's role. what is it supposed to do? on that you base the size of the helideck, the no and types of weapons carried, radar system and the propulsion. from that you start with adding the propulsion train (cooling for reactors, funnels and intakes for turbines, etc) and then you try to fit in the radar system.
if you have done that, you can build an hangar and bridge on it, add cranes/rhib bays, masts, railings, cooling etc.... and then you are mostly done :D :P

Thanks.

It's that one destroyer, remember the one that had 3 hulls, was ridiculously long. I never posted it on shipbucket it's only in my dA gallery and the original file was overwritten.

Are those pads fore and aft VLS blocks?
