A strikingly handsome little craft you've got there, Thiel! Very well proportioned and designed! Back then they knew how to design properly looking ships!

Thank you. I'm rather pleased with her myself.
I wanted to put a more period appropriate bridge on her, but given how highly stressed the hull is, I decided to go with what is in reality a much newer style.

I don't think any of my designs are going to exceed the small templates.

Go ahead. I'll do the as build version of her and a turbine powered version soon if you're interested.

That sounds very interesting...as long as you retain the attractive profile of her! ;) :)

Interesting AU, but one thing I'm curious about. Since your point of departure puts Denmark on the other side of the Neopleonic war and Denmark thus isn't humiliated in the Treaty of Kiel, what becomes of Norway? Does Norway remain in the union (in which case it should be the Danish-Norwegian AU), or does Norway get independence at some point?

Norway gets her independence. I'm not quite sure when, but it'll happen in the first part of the 19th century.
I'm not sure how either, but I do have a couple of ideas.

And here she is. I'm still looking for a suitable gun since the ones she received later in her life weren't made until 1915
Her profile has been modified to reflect the greater need of stealth and the less advanced radios available at the time.
The motor launch has been replaced by two small rowing boats and the auxiliary steering position has given way to twin 45cm torpedo tubes. The tub right in front of it is the main torpedo sight. I realise it's a rather odd position, but it's the only one that gives it the same "field of fire" as the TTs. The small distance between them also helps simplify fire control.

Still an eminently handsome craft, Thiel. Almost want to sing aloud 'Kong Christian stod ved Højen Mast i Røg og Damp...' 8-) ;) :D
