Here is the sole Type 82 Class destroyer HMS Bristol. I won't post a backstory here as I'm sure most of you know the background of the design and the ship etc. She is one impressive ship ,ultimately a white elephant but nevertheless an ambitious design.

Oh YES! :D My Sunday is complete; just to see this ship being brought up to date by the Master. So, now, let the kitbashing begin ;)

One question. the ships launch looks 'interesting' I can't recall seeing it but maybe its o.k.?

Beautifull work Hood. A true masterpiece made by a grand-master.
A silly question from a novice though: The HMS Bristol as built IIRC did not have the Corvus launchers nor the 20mm Oerlikon, as sho was not considered to be an operational ship. And so for my question, what year is it for the HMS Bristol here?

As far as I know the Limbo was removed and the flightdeck enlarged when the corvus and Oerlikons were added in 1982. You also have to add the American OE-82 antennas. One was fitted st the forefront of the bridge and the other one behind/between the after funnels.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

PB, yes the launch does look 'interesting' it looked even odder on the two plans I had, looking at the photos of Bristol it looks a bit more normal but it seems to be not quite the usual basic laucnh used on other ships for some bizarre reason. I did tweak it several times but the result is still not really good looking at all.

Novice, the profile would date roughly from the mid-1980s. I may go back and do an original 70s version.

Meyer, I will look into the OE-82, thanks for info.

Superb drawing, Hood! As for the comments, I'd be careful about which version of the OE-82 to be ftted, though I recall the Bristol actually having them. You have the round ones and the square ones!
