Second it's true, first - no.
Both are true, our high command were sure that war of 39' will be the same as WWI, trench war.
I don't believe that a men from Poland can talking about trench war - I suggest to read more about this theme.

We fight our part of tranch war in army of Germany, Austro-Hungarian Empire and Russia our "beloved" occupying nations. Our high command in war of 39' assumed that they will stop germans, stabilize frontline with series of field fortifications and wait for France  and Great Britain offensive. And I read many books about this 39' also my grandfather was army officer in that time.

But this is no topic for this kind of discussion. ;)

I'm down with the flu and not lekker at all. But here are some of the Soviet super tanks brought into FD scale in case anyone wants to draw them. I think Mitch would really want to see them!

Those look sorta like the tanks that Golly drew. You use those designs for inspiration, Golly?

O279 has a really wonky hull, it looks like a boat

IS7 is heavy tank to rule them all, and probably more like what Gollevainen drew, especially the O-780.

In a somewhat literal way, it kinda is:

It was designed to exert very low ground pressure and for amphibious travel and was more or less specifically designed for snowy or marshy terrain.

This is a joke, right? I mean, four sets of tracks and a hull form designed to trap incoming rounds? Is there no end to stupidity?

Four sets of tracks were also designed by the British "Tortoise" heavy tank, which was never made, and IIRC also the American T13 heavy tank. it was a way of distributing the weight.

These are Soviet prototypes we're discussing here.

There are no limits.
