The all blue ensign was used by the IRL swedish "army's fleet" or "archipelago fleet" between 1761-1823, mostly the units based at Sveaborg.

intresting, never heard of that before. So in your AU it would be retained after 1820's? And the armeeflottan concept would remain into modern days?

Very nice link!Since I tried to do a corvette for my Swedish Navy without a result, the Typ 85 seems adequate.Could I use it?

@Golly: well, my plan is that the "archipelago fleet" survived and made good service during the recapture of Finland in 1855-56, especially as an offensive amphibious force. They also man the coastal fortresses where the monitors are used as flank defense. The "Archipelago fleet" will form the "Royal Swedish Marines" and "Coastal artillery Corps" in the early 20th century. The Blue ensign will be kept for ships beloning to the diffrent forces such as landing crafts or inshore minelayers.

@Odysseus: I would prefer if you made a ship of your own so we can discuss and compare them. I have made quite alot of tactical thought behind the "Type 85". She is how I would have mad a corvette for the Swedish navy in the mid 80s - my version of the IRL Gothenburg class.

How would you do it? There will probably an ASW version of her as well with no aft gun, ASW torpedoes and mortars and a big sonar suite.
