I would have gone for the Fridtjof Nansen class frigate. just because it has a growth rate of 500%!!!

it is also an ASW ASuW
500% of what? Weight, volume, computing capacity, missiles carried or something else?
It stood simply that one of the requirements was a growth rate of 500% But I guess the data capacity and weapons.

and why are there no dutch designs in this list? ok, we only have the LCF to offer, but IMO it would be one of the most capable ones....

@ Ace-the LCF has not been strongly pushed on the export market (though it was the first foreign ship i ever took interest in way back in 2005), hence i didnt put it up. Also you could say that it falls into the MEKO catagory since it shares the same SEAWACO combat system.

@scifibug- I agree, however it could be argued that that the F-100/105 and the KDX-2 are the "American" designs.

Well we have a export version of the LCF.. The UAE wanted to buy 2 or 3 by 2012 with modified radars, but a future in this project seem far away though...

but you are right, there is no 'export LCF' on the market, but there are some of 5000 tons and of similar specs within the SIGMA series. these larger designs are not on the market anymore as far as I know (unless somebody asks them to build them) due to the success of the smaller types.

and it has to be said that the SEWACO of the sachsen class (I assume you used those for your statement) is only partially the same, the radar systems are purely dutch, as are most systems which are on both ships. so I disagree that you could list them under MEKO. you might be able to list them under SIGMA though....

well my point is its a shared critical system, so in your mind just expand the German option to include Dutch and Dane. Besides im to only limited 10 options.

Went for KDX-II though I wouldn't mind seeing it with different electronics.
