The way the pontoons are currently drawn, the vertical and horizontal structures look the same, which they should not. I would make the horizontal lines perhaps a 153/153/153 gray or something like that.

I would prefer a lighter shade for the aft surface of the funnel, and slightly darker for the forward facing. Also a slightly darker shade for the overhangs. also, the rounded section, below the bridge, indicated by graduated shading - this looks bit too broad. These are minor nitpicks according to my own preferences; so yes, this is a very good drawing, and I look forward to seeing more of the same :)

Much better.

Bill, it's far from capital-S Standard, but I think in excess of 2/3 of the current drawings with a forward-aft bias show the sun as relatively over the bow, thus with lighter grays on forward-facing surfaces (as is done here).

I've always done sun over the bows shading like this.

Overall I think this is a good job all-round.

Yes, the sun is best shown over the bows; but I just thought the forward facing could be a tad lighter, and the aft a tad lighter also; and it may be my p.c. but I can't see the rounded effect forward, and the aft looks too dark. This isn't meant to detract from what is undoutably a fine drawing. :)

Oh, I misunderstood you. Kind of a shrug for me regarding the exact shades of gray.

The reason why you can't see any shading on the fore-part of the funnel is because there isn't any. I always do one or the the other, not both. This might sound a bit odd, but I think it gets the message across while keeping clutter to a minimum.
Anyway, I've slimmed down the graduated shading. I think I'll go ahead and make it single shade though. I've also fixed a couple of areas where shading were missing and a couple of other details.
