Wasn't expecting to see this today nor do I like seeing it.

BBC Coverage

'Red 4' was piloted by Flight Lieutenant Jon Egging who was apparently thrown from the wreckage of his aircraft after attempting crashing from a continued right banking turn. He was apparently cleared to carry out an emergency landing beforehand.
This is the first fatality that the Red Arrows have had since the 1970s when they were flying Gnats.
This will most likely mean that the hawk fleet both Red Arrow and the trainers are grounded while an investigation is carried out I would think.

My thoughts are with the pilots family and friends. RIP sir.

This was sad!

It can happen to anyone!

No one is Superman, but you can have qualities that others do not have ... and that's what makes Red arrowe so good!
