and the fact that they look like they are kinda flat won't help too.... and that their size is not enough to bring speed to something this huge. the only role I can see for them (as sails) is stabilising the ship in heavy waves.

Unfortunately, the ship in the picture was never described in detail. They went on to describe other ships that are being proposed, but this wasn't even named. I don't even know the primary form of propulsion.
