I'm not sure the keel would like the sudden reduction in load. At the very least your trim is going to be all over the place.
How exactly is the A7 guided during the terminal phase?

@ace:
I like some minor faults in my designs. Yes, the third launcher is to near to the flight deck.
The directors are nearly the same as for the aa. Just added some antenna for control.

@thiel:
it must be radar-controlled, what more would be possible in 1946?

Thing is, at 35nm Anson will be below the radar horizon, making it impossible to get an accurate enough fix to hit him.

You are right. Thanks for your advice.

But an aircraft of Waldersee found Anson first, the A7 were radio controlled by aircraft most of their way. The final attack phase is led by radar.

Long delayed but now it's here: the Spaehkreuzer, first the 1938 design.
5700 t, 152,2 m, 3x2x15 cm, 1x8,8 cm twin aa, 4x3,7 cm twin aa, 8x2 cm aa, 2x5 53,3 cm torpedo tubes
The spaehkreuzer is more a very large destroyer. Built for scouting and escorting battleships at atlantic missions. 26 units were ordered, the first one really layed up.
The design was changed several times until the final 1940 design. But for none of them there is a secure source.

I did not add too much detail. Whatever anybody says, there are no original plans available. Every drawing, picture or whatever else is fictional or just imagination.

Does anyone know: of all the landing craft available to Germany by 1941, which one is the smallest that can carry a 251/1 halftrack to the shore?

(I have a rather awful sense of scale, so please bear with me here......)

Thanks in advance.

Good design, although the space between the funnels looks a bit empty

Germany didn't have much in way of dedicated landing crafts. The only ones that springs to mind are the various Marinefahrpramme (sp?)

What do you miss? The two torp launchers are placed there and the four 37mm twins one deck above. Btw I hope these were the real locations for the 37mm, the available drawings don't show the arrangement of 20mm and 37mm aa.
